Instructional Services

Engineering IT provides a variety of IT services for instruction.  In addition to our world-class instructional computer labs for Grainger College of Engineering education, we also offer remote computing sessions for students, and lecture capture for digital distribution.  Engineering IT can also connect you with a variety of Learning Management Systems for hosting courses and online learning.

EWS Student Computer Labs will be open on August 24, 2020 with reduced capacity to accommodate social distancing guidelines. Labs will also have altered hours, please see the EWS Lab Hours & Locations page for up-to-date details.

Engineering IT Help Desk continues to provide remote support and has opened with limited walk-in times and locations. See the Help Desk Hours and Location page for details.

Multi-media

Engineering IT’s multimedia and educational technology group provides advanced services for audiovisual and multimedia technology. 

EWS Lab Availability - Where can I find a lab machine?

 

The Engineering WorkStation (EWS) labs currently include over 1,400 workstations and serve over 19,000 students taking Grainger College of Engineering courses. EWS provides high performance, highly reliable instructional computing resources for the students and faculty of the Grainger College of Engineering.

For assistance with any EWS resource, please e-mail ews@illinois.edu or call the Engineering IT Help Desk at 217-333-1313 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., M-F (during the summer, the Engineering IT Help Desk is closed over the 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.  lunch hour).
