Engineering IT is Moving Out of DCL

Engineering IT is relocating many offices and workspaces from the Digital Computer Laboratory (DCL) to the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) building during April and May 2026. This move, coordinated with the Grainger College of Engineering Administration, will not impact customer services or support availability.

The relocation frees space in DCL for renovations needed to support newly awarded research grants while providing Engineering IT with a more consistent, shared location that supports collaboration and communication across teams.

Engineering IT Service Desk locations are not changing and will continue operating at:
  • 2302 Siebel Center for Computer Science
  • 1005 Mechanical Engineering Laboratory
The move has been intentionally scheduled to minimize disruption. Transitions will occur in phases throughout the remaining spring semester, with equipment and staff relocating in April and May.
“This move reflects years of planning and a significant investment in Engineering IT,” said Laura T. Herriott, Executive Director. “While some office locations are changing, our mission and commitment to reliable, high‑quality service remain the same.”

Engineering IT thanks its customers for their patience and looks forward to the opportunities the new space will provide.

We will post move updates as they are completed on this page.
