Resolved: EWS Home Directory File Server Briefly Unavailable on 3/2/2016

This issue has been resolved as of 4/11/2016. On 3/25/2016, Engineering IT Infrastructure installed a fix provided by the vendor. The server was closely monitored for two full weeks to ensure that the root cause had been identified and the software solution worked.

From 11:22 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. today, the EWS Home Directory File Server was intermittently unavailable for students to access their EWS home directories. This is symptomatic of the same issues that occured on Thursday, 2/15. Engineering Infrastructure team is closely monitoring this and taking actions to minimize impact. We apologize for any inconvenience.

From 3:10 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. today, the EWS Home Directory File Server was unavailable for students to access their EWS home directories. This downtime was related to procedures that Engineering IT infrastructure followed according to the server vendor to diagnose and troubleshoot the recurring Linux Web Browsing issue that began last Thursday, 2/25.
