Electrical problems and server outages

Early Tuesday monring, an electrical problem damaged the UPS and reset network hardware in the Siebel data center. Electricty was restored quickly but damaged network hardware blocked access to the virtual servers until the network equipment could be restored. Some servers, virtual and physical, did not automatically restart correctly and were also unavailable until after they were manually restarted.
The outage started at approximately 5:40am and services began to be available starting at approximately 11:00am.
All servers have been returned to service, but if you encounter any problems, please let Engineering IT know by sending e-mail to engrit-help [at] illinois.edu
