Due to high usage I will have to delay the updates on our secondary setup in MRL as I am unable to apply the updates without affecting the experience of the virtual machines.

What: Infrastructure will be updating Engineering VMWare ESXi hosts on the production VMware environment.
Services affected: Engineering VMWare ESXi hosts. All virtual machines will be remain online during this process.

Root cause: The application of OS updates to the Engineering VMware ESXi hosts.
Details:
Infrastructure will be updating the VMWare ESXi hosts starting Tuesday at 9:30am. During this process all servers and services that rely on our virtual infrastructure will continue to function as they do normally.
During the update process of an ESXi host all of the VMs currently running on that host are redistributed to other hosts in the cluster. That host is then patched, rebooted, tested and re-added to the cluster. The process of migrating virtual machines from one host to another occurs frequently every day and is part of the normally operating VMware service. I will also be applying the applicable firmware updates to these physical host.
